Need helpers to help look after rescued horses and ponies including general care of the ponies.
Fundraisers are needed to set up small groups to organise fundraising events.
The Mari Lwyd (in Welsh, Y Fari Lwyd) is one of the strangest and most ancient of a number of customs with which people in Glamorgan and Gwent used to mark the passing of the darkest days of midwinter. New members are needed in Ystradgynlais, come along and have some fun. Meetings start in November yearly.
Digital Champion Volunteer to help customers with basic IT skills, job searching, universal credit and using different devices. Basic IT skills are required. Some training is provided such as Volunteer Induction and online digital champion training.
Neath East Action Team needs volunteers to help with monthly litter picks and exciting environmental projects.
Drone Pilot, Search Helpers and Poster Helper Volunteers are needed to help dogs and their owners be reunited as quickly as possible.
Creative Children’s Play Support Volunteers needed one day a week during school hours for a local charity supporting children outside mainstream education with additional needs.
Volunteer Escorts are required to escort with the driver by helping to collect disabled people from home and take them to a day centre, returning them home later. Must be over 18.
Volunteer Minibus (Ambulance) Drivers required collecting disabled people from home and driving them to a day centre, returning them home later. Drivers must be 25 years of age or under 70.
Volunteer Events Coordinator needed to help to deliver a variety of different events at Aberdulais Tinworks and Waterfall, from planning and preparation to setting up and running activities on the day.
Tearoom assistant. The tearoom is organised by Friends who work either morning or afternoon one day a week from 10-15am-1.45pm or from 1.15pm-4.45pm serving light refreshments.
All Independent Visitors are volunteers and they need no formal qualifications just a genuine and active interest in the welfare of children and young people. They are interviewed and on completion of an enhanced CRB check and references verified, they then receive accredited training. Once this has been verified the Independent Visitor is then matched suitably.
A Sitting Service Volunteer is required to cover all of NPT. To offer company and conversation to a person being cared for at home, whilst their carer takes a break for a couple of hours. No personal care required. No experience needed, however some qualities essential such as reliability, honesty and good communication skills. Some training is provided such as first aid, safeguarding and various awareness of disabilities. A DBS check will be required.
Community Companions. Can you spare a few hours a week to offer friendship and support to someone feeling lonely or isolated, or who need help getting out and about and back in to community life. This could involve having a chat over a cup of tea, going shopping, attending a local group or even going for a walk. You will experience first-hand the real difference you can make to someone’s life. You will also receive full training, learn new skills, meet new people and be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses.
Volunteer Befriender. You can help young people to increase their confidence and self-esteem. You will be positive role model, provide a listening ear and help young people to access to the local community. One-to-one visits will take place weekly at the young person’s home or out in the community. Full training provided and out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
Youth Engagement Support Project for 16-24 year olds to help young people increase their confidence and self-esteem.

Ystradgynlais Neuro Cafe requires volunteers on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month to help out in the kitchen serving refreshments to clients who attend the group.
Would you like to help children understand the value of money? You will gain experience of working within a school environment, pupils will earn the value of saving and will benefit from your skills and enthusiasm.

People's Collection Wales is a free website dedicated to bringing together Wales's heritage. The Collection is full of fascinating photographs, documents, audio and video recordings and stories that link to the history, culture and people of Wales. Volunteers are needed to help add names, locations and other valuable information to historical photographs, which can be archived and published for others to discover to help celebrate the Vales rich history from Neath to Pontneddfechan.
Being a volunteer at The Pontardawe Arts Centre entails several responsibilities;
- checking tickets on doors of auditorium
- being available to assist the audience at all times
- selling programmes
- checking areas are ready for public use
- Assisting with any first aid incidents

Are you a kidney patient or family member /carer and feel you can volunteer for Popham Kidney Support as a Peer Mentor?
Popham Kidney Support are expanding their Peer Mentor service and looking for new volunteers, you can give as little as one hour a week. You will be fully supported with training and on going support from the team.
Volunteer Telephone Befrienders are required in Powys. They are we are working at full capacity and still need volunteers to help reduce loneliness and isolation. As well as telephoning, volunteers are needed to contact people online, by text or email or a friendly letter in the post. Regular contact is making a huge difference to our most vulnerable communities in Powys - 10 minutes of volunteer time can literally be a lifeline.
Advisers/Gateway Assessors - Volunteers are needed to train as Advisers or Gateway Assessors in our Ystradgynlais premises. You will need to know how to use spreadsheets and database. Volunteer Gateway Assessors are needed on Wednesdays, advisors on Wednesdays or Tuesdays. Some flexibility during the initial training period (3-4mths) is useful and sometimes necessary.
Admin Assistants are needed Tuesdays or Wednesdays 10am until 12pm.
Do you have an interest in helping your local community to improve the services that are provided by the NHS? Volunteers are needed to help improve the NHS locally and nationally. Community Health Council members are local volunteers who act as the eyes and ears of patients and the public; listening to their concerns and working with the health service to improve the quality of patient care, letting those in charge of health services know what people want and how things can be improved.
If you have any spare time, Powys Pets in Need are looking for help, to promote their Charity, and help as many people as they can, who are on low income or in poverty. They are looking for help with distributing leaflets of free Pet food to shops and supermarkets in your area, people who want to donate pet food, contacting you to arrange for collection, and taking photos of the donated food, asking the donor if they want to be mentioned in their facebook page / group, if not just post the donated items on Facebook. Checking to see if anywhere would take charity collection boxes, help at events if you have time probably 3 events a year, and any ideas you may have to make the charity a success. Also once a year attend a AGM meeting possibly Jan-Feb.
Roaming Tech Volunteers are needed to provide one-to-one support to people with sight loss, visiting them in their own homes to help them get the most out of technology. They may help customers set up a new device, learn new features or trouble shoot tech problems. Roaming tech volunteers support people local to them. You will need to have Good communication skills; Customer focused approach; Natural tech user; Problem solving skills; And an empowering attitude.
Project support -Offering practical support to staff e.g. administration, support, distributing information and fundraising.
Independent parental support -Providing specific information, advice and support to the child and family.
School and community link volunteers - Provide schools and communities with general information on SNAP Cymru and other services.
Youth Leader – Volunteering with Children and Young People Team to help deliver and teach lifesaving skills amongst other useful and fun subjects to children and young people. Full training will be provided including first aid.
Operational Volunteer (First Aider and Ambulance Crew) – To provide first aid and ambulance support at public events and to support key healthcare partners in times of need for example NHS support. Minimum 60 hours per year. First aid training will be provided, Health and Safety, Moving and Handling and Ambulance Crew Training.
Play worker to assist in the provision of play opportunities for children who are visiting someone held in HMP Swansea.
Prisoners' family befriender/mentor. This role is based in either Swansea or Cardiff prison, but may also involve work in the community in other parts of Wales to assist ex-offenders with the challenges of resettlement.
