Supermarket Surplus Free Food Distribution Scheme Volunteers are needed to pick up from Supermarkets in the evenings. The Food Hub redistributes free food which is provided to us as surplus stock from local Tesco, Lidl and Co-op stores. The food is usually near to or at the end of their ‘sell by’ or ‘use by’ date (but not always) for people in the community to collect each week day.
Volunteer with Canolfan Maerdy Community Cafe Canolfan Maerdy have a Community Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating available. Open between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm, the café serves a variety of meals including breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Volunteers are needed to help with cooking, washing up, serving and other general tasks within the café.
